When I moved from the Netherlands to Japan to study, I was constantly confronted with situations that were 'too complex to understand'. Both the language and the culture were a barrier. Since then, my mission has always remained the same: to remove those 'barriers'.
The goal of this new site is simple: to show my work as it is. No unnecessary decoration. A clear structure so everyone understands 'what I do'.
What you'll find here
- Projects: A Laravel app for school administration, WordPress + Moodle integration, and localization of games and official documents. Examples of 'turning complex situations into a system that everyone can use'.
- Services: Multilingual websites, translation & localization (English/Japanese/Dutch), and small-scale automation. These are the three pillars I use to remove language barriers, technical hurdles, and information overload.
- Contact: A short form with only the essentials. The barrier is low: 'start with a question'.
Why I chose this style
My priority is a design that 'everyone can use intuitively, regardless of background or technical skills'.
Japanese sites are often a chaos of information. Users disengage due to that complexity. That's why I deliver only the essentials, in a simple way. That's my approach.
This site was built with the same philosophy:
- Light and fast (no unnecessary frameworks)
- Support for dark/light mode
- Designed for multilingualism from the ground up
- A structure focused on accessibility
The backend (in summary)
- Static PHP with simple HTML/CSS
- A structure ready for English, Japanese, and Dutch content right away
- A simple file structure for managing posts and projects
- Easy to manage and sustainably maintainable
Turning 'complex and unclear' into 'simple and usable'. That is the core of my work.
If you are struggling with a small project or a complex workflow, feel free to get in touch. We can think together about how to remove that 'barrier'.
